Why Phlebotomy

So I was at that point in my life where I was about to have my job/income taken away. The company I was working for was planning to withdraw from my counrty. I decided that I had to do something about my future. The economy was really bad and jobs were difficult to find.
I heard from a co-worker of a school that was offering a course in Phlebotomy and I decided to enroll as the field of medicine was known to be recession proof.
So, I enrolled and started learning about Phlebotomy.

Phlebotomy is the art of blood letting. It is also known as venipuncture; which means cutting into the vein.
The procedure is to use a needle to withdraw blood from a vein in the arm. The blood is tested detect illnesses and treat same where necessary.

As my studies progressed I really started enjoying what I was studying.

  1. The first thing one needs to know in order to pursue a career in phlebotomy is Anotomy and Physiology. This is necessary as you will need to know the body systems, how they work, the illnesses and disorders associated with each and how to treat, prevent or cure these disorders.
